As part of the March Madness Fundraiser Week for freshman-class activities, the Freshman Student Council sponsored Twin Day. Many of our classmates had the opportunity to "dress up" as twin of another classmate/friend in the school. Many of the participants liked the activity and hoped to be schedule again in the near future. |
Black History Month Project:
FEBRUARY 2014:
Mr. Coppola's Honors World History Classes worked on a Black History Month project. Our classmates were given/chose a prominent African American figure and needed to write a resume of each figure highlighting the accomplishments and skills to be accepted for a job position. Many classmates expressed a sense of gratitude to the many African American figures for their contributions that shaped the world we live in today. |
AHPA Visits Rutgers University:
NOVEMBER 2013:
Our classmates from Mrs. Velasco's and Mrs. McAteer's AVID 9 classes, were given the opportunity to visit Rutgers University on November 12. Our friends learned about admissions and academic programs offered in Rutgers. Students from Rutgers joined AHPA on a bus tour with numerous of stops across the five campuses of Rutgers University and learned how each campus differed from each other. The stops included The Busch Campus School of Engineering, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, and Cook Campus’ featured the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The Class of 2017-AHPA also had the opportunity to ask questions about college academic programs and campus life with numerous of Rutgers students and representatives after a presentation. Many of our classmates liked the college trip and hoped one will be schedule again in the near future. |
